With projecting bays of deep red, the gallery emerges as a sculpture in the landscape, both a contemporary icon and a homage to Australian natural and cultural history.

BKA Architecture has worked in collaboration with Byron Shire Council to repurpose the Old Byron Bay Hospital site into a Community Hub. With DA approval, the future tenants will be an interdisciplinary mix of social, community and Indigenous groups. The development will also house the local university.
