DA Submitted for Micro-Apartments in Kingsford

As the demand for housing continues to grow, particularly in inner-city and urban areas, BKA believes that it is imperative that architects investigate new, creative ways to meet this demand. In line with this belief, we have just submitted a DA for a ‘micro-apartment’ complex in Kingsford, where it nestles into a corner site with a low profile and warmly-coloured facade. If realised the project would see the delivery of 77 compact units to house a diverse spectrum of occupants ranging from students to mature residents, and would challenge the negative stereotypes associated with the boarding house accommodation typology.
