Mount View Lodges

Rising from the slopes of Brokenback Range in the scenic Hunter Valley, this timber-clad holiday lodge merges environmentally sensitive design with a comfortable, luxurious hotel experience.

A number of eco design measures have been incorporated into the compact lodge, including a polished concrete floor that functions as efficient thermal mass and keeps the space cool in summer while radiating warmth back into it in winter.

Louvres maximise natural ventilation throughout the space year-round, while a northerly aspect provides shelter from the elements. Meanwhile, a mono-pitched roof funnels rainwater into two tanks beneath deck level, where it is heated by solar panels to supply the lodge with hot water.
