The HWA Tsang Monastery provides a much needed space for communal activities within the monastery and includes a new multipurpose hall, library, playrooms and offices. The facility offers increased meeting space for volunteers and employees, as well as an indoor play area for the supervision of children. Located in a low density residential area, the facility presents a contemporary design that incorporates traditional elements such as pitched tiled roofs. This, combined with a mixed palette of face brickwork, lightweight cladding and terracotta tiles, allows the development’s form to seemlessly integrate into the surrounding built character.
