BKA have designed 30 open plan multi residential apartments on Peel St Tuncurry. Internalised courtyards provide a pleasant outlook for residents, facilitating the opportunity for casual gathering, with setback terraces providing a buffer between public and private realms. Cross ventilation limits the degree of artificial cooling required in summer with the provision of windows on opposite facades of the building. Masonry wall and concrete floor construction serves to regulate interior temperature fluctuations and the northward orientation of most apartments significantly maximises solar access.
