ArchDaily 2026 Building of the Year Awards – Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre
We’re pleased to share that the Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre has been shortlisted for ArchDaily Building of the Year 2026 in the category Cultural Architecture.
Designed to support fresh and exciting creative opportunities in the Hunter Valley, the centre provides flexible spaces for exhibitions, community events, and artistic production — connecting local practice with broader cultural exchange. Situated on a floodplain and sharing its site with the existing Visitor Information Centre, the project carefully negotiates a balance between establishing a strong new identity and responding to its context.
Adaptable gallery spaces, artists’ studios, and a sculpture garden promote engagement across diverse audiences. An honest industrial material palette of tilt-up concrete, exposed steel, and bold roof forms supports flexibility and future expansion, while vivid red steel elements establish the building as a distinctive landmark visible from the New England Highway.
Public voting is now open on ArchDaily, and we would greatly appreciate your support. Please follow the link to vote for Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre.
